Called in for coffee and an early lunch on a Monday morning while in town, and the coffee was great! I had a Stockmans pie, which wasn’t the greatest pie I’ve ever had, but it was hot. The cafe was clean and buzzing with locals out for morning tea/lunch.I’ll try a different pie when I’m in town next time, hopefully it’s better than the stockmans.
The Loaf & Lounge
About this place
The Loaf & Lounge sits on Manifold Street in Camperdown, Victoria, drawing both local regulars and travellers passing through on their way to Warrnambool for a fresh, unhurried breakfast stop.
A baked potato dish stands out on the menu, filled with eggs cooked omelette-style rather than left whole, winning over even guests who aren't usually fans of eggs. The egg and bacon roll and a range of toasties round out the breakfast lineup, alongside coffee that regulars say is some of the best in the area.
The atmosphere works well for a quiet solo breakfast or a catch-up with friends, with a cozy, welcoming feel first thing in the morning. It's a solid stop for travellers on the road or locals looking for a reliable spot for coffee and a bite to eat.

I’m pleased I ignored the bad reviews and chose this restaurant for lunch today. The young girl who served us was delightful, we chose to have a pie for lunch, mine being beef and mushroom..✔️my husband chose the scallop pie, it was a bit gluggy, but as I said to him that they are always like that, not sure why they don’t make the sauce creamier. One thing with this cafe there is plenty to choose from for lunch and a great variety of cakes and bread, they even have some pantry essentials. I loved the decor, and if it always this good I would definitely recommend.
Waited way too long for just 2 coffees, someone who was seemingly a regular was given his coffee before me when I had been already been waiting for 10 minutes at this stage, staff too busy chatting to each other. Not the place to stop if you’re just passing through and want to grab a quick coffee because there’s nothing quick about it, coffee was average and not worth the wait.
Last year we travelled through Camperdown stopping at The Loaf and Lounge for morning tea. Loved it so much this year stayed three days at The Lake and Craters Caravan Park walking into town everyday and having a coffee and treat or pie at The Loaf and Lounge. Great place and friendly staff. See you next time.
I tried the smashed avocado and eggs your way, and both were delicious! I love sour flavors, so I really enjoyed the slight tanginess of the smashed avocado. But, one of my breads was too small, so I had to eat my partner’s breads. The coffee was great too, and if you have a sweet tooth, the raspberry and almond dessert is a fantastic choice.
Yet again had a great coffee and toasty . Great place too sit on your own and have a brake from the world Or go with your friends . I do like this place . Not many places around that make great coffee 👌😃
Amazing place for breakfast, yummy food options and friendly staff. Nice stop place while travelling.
I stopped at The Loaf & Lounge for breakfast on my way to Warrnambool for work and it was so nice! The staff were lovely, it was a beautiful atmosphere first thing in the morning and the food was fresh and delicious ❤️🤤
This dish was so good! The potato was nicely baked on the outside, and inside it had eggs cooked in an omelette style rather than a whole egg.I’m not usually a fan of whole eggs (I normally just eat them for health), but this was honestly delicious.Such a fun food experience today—perfect weekend with you and great food ✨
